The Local Health Authorities Analytical Committee’s Structure
LHAAC is currently a committee of ten Local Government members. Seven of these represent Local Government Authorities in the metropolitan area and three represent Local Government Authorities in the non-metropolitan area. All members are to be persons nominated by the Western Australian Local Government Association (WALGA) and approved and appointed by the Minister for Health.
The LHAAC Coordinator and a representative of the Department of Health also attend each meeting of the LHAAC. The Analyst(s) may also be asked to attend some meetings.

Each of our Committee members are happy to be contacted by Local Government staff or any of our stakeholders. However, since LHAAC do have a full time Coordinator, it is perhaps administratively more prudent to contact the LHAAC Coordinator first. About LHAAC Coordinator – Ryan Janes
Ryan was appointed as LHAAC Coordinator in 2023 and brings with him a wealth of experience from 14 years at the WA Department of Health and prior to that was an Environmental Health Officer in Local Government. During this time, Ryan has worked across a broad range of environmental health areas including emergency management, medical entomology, policy development, food safety, environmental hazards, and health risk assessment, which he is keen to contribute to the growth and development of LHAAC.
Ryan holds qualifications in Bachelor of Science (Environmental Health), Grad Cert in Environmental Health (Risk Assessment) and Master of Infectious Diseases.
